        Tour Route and Significance

        • Region: Şanlıurfa (Balıklıgöl, Göbeklitepe) and Adıyaman/Malatya (Mount Nemrut).
        • Significance: Home to the oldest remains of human history. Culture, history, and a mystical atmosphere are found together.

        Sites and Visits

        • Göbeklitepe: The oldest known temple complex, dating back 12,000 years.
          Note: Walking will be required in restricted areas. Don't forget sun protection.
        • Balıklıgöl (Urfa): The sacred pool believed to be the place where Prophet Abraham was cast into the fire.
          Note: When visiting holy sites, respectful dress(covering shoulders and knees) is recommended, especially for women.

        Mount Nemrut Summit

        • Visit: The most challenging yet most magnificent part of the tour is the ascent to Mount Nemrut (the monumental tomb of Commagene King Antiochus I).
        • Preparation: A short hike to the summit is necessary. Bring water and your cold-weather gear. The view during the morning or evening hours is unforgettable.

        Local Cuisine (Similar to Gaziantep cuisine)

        • Must Try: Urfa Kebab , Çiğ Köfte (be sure to try the version with meat), Lahmacun (Turkish pizza), İçli Köfte (stuffed meatballs), and the local dessert Şıllık.

          Climate and Clothing

          • Climate: The region's climate is generally very hot and dry, but during spring and autumn, days can be mild while evenings are cool.
          • Mount Nemrut: The mountain summit, especially during sunrise/sunset, is very cold and windy.
          • Clothing: Daytime: Light, breathable (cotton), light-colored clothes. Evening/Nemrut: A thick, windproof jacket and a hat (beanie) must be brought. Footwear: Opt for comfortable shoes suitable for walking in archaeological sites (Göbeklitepe) and on Mount Nemrut.
